The Buffalo Bills drafted defensive tackle Harrison Phillips with the No. 96 overall pick, adding some more depth to the defensive line.

The Buffalo Bills decided to keep things simple Friday night after making a few trades on Thursday.

The team decided to use its one pick, selecting Stanford’s Harrison Phillips at No. 96 overall.

The defensive tackle comes to Buffalo to learn under Kyle Williams and join a defense that should only be better in 2018.

So as of right now the Bills have grabbed a quarterback, a linebacker and a defensive tackle. And depending on how you view Josh Allen, this start is either solid or a major disappointment when considering how many early picks the team had heading into Thursday night.

Someone with Phillips’ size is usually a safe pick, and he won’t be expected to be a star in 2018.

To be honest, the best part about the selection for me was when Bills superfan Pancho Billa was called on stage to announce the pick. We did an interview with Pancho before the draft and it was awesome to see him up there repping his beloved Bills.

Pancho is currently fighting cancer and we wish him the best as he continues his fight.

Moments like that are what make being a fan great, and it while it is indeed good PR for the Bills, it is still a moment our friend Pancho will never forget.

Back to the draft itself, the Bills have plenty of holes left to fill on Saturday. Phillips and Tremaine Edmunds slot in as players ready to contribute right away, while Allen is the question mark.
