Buffalo Bills stay patient in most recent FanSided NFL mock draft
The Buffalo Bills remain patient and still get the franchise’s quarterback of the future in the latest mock draft from FanSided.
We have posted several full first-round mock drafts here at BuffaLowDown that have featured some interesting hauls for the Buffalo Bills.
Our mocks include trades and overall madness, but most out there keep the picks where they are and save the trades for draft day.
FanSided released its latest mock draft, written by Brad Weiss, that doesn’t feature any trades. And surprisingly enough, Weiss has the Bills getting their quarterback of the future without having to trade up.
At No. 12, he has the Bills drafting Josh Rosen. From the article:
"Josh Rosen is one of the big name quarterbacks in this draft class, though his attitude has come under the microscope as of late. Many do not feel he has the passion to play the game, but listening to him talk, it is clear he is going to be a very good pro. He has the arm talent to make every throw needed at the next level, and the Bills certainly need someone after trading away Tyrod Taylor."
Rosen falling to No. 12 overall may not be realistic, but in a mock draft with no trades, it makes sense. The Bills are likely going to make a move up, I hope, and that would be to take a quarterback. And if Rosen falls to No. 3 or lower, the Bills have a shot to grab him.
It is impossible to tell what teams are actually thinking as false reports and rumors are put out seemingly everyday to confuse other teams and keep plans secret. But it is hard to believe the Bills won’t take one of the top five quarterbacks in the draft.
At No. 22, Weiss has the Bills drafting Connor Williams, offensive tackle out of Texas. From the article:
"Williams has been a stud since stepping on campus at Texas, and has had the distinction of one of the best offensive tackles in college football over the last few seasons. The Bills were a playoff team last season, and adding a player like Williams actually makes them better up front on offense."
Adding a tackle and a quarterback in the first round would be a great start to the draft for a team already playing at a high level. This may not be possible if the team does trade up, but the haul in this mock draft is certainly an ideal one.
