Stephon Gilmore

Gilmore is one of the newest Patriots, having been signed during the offseason prior to the start of the 2017 season. Before joining the Patriots, Gilmore spent five seasons in Buffalo after they drafted him in 2012.

Many Bills fans were not happy to see Gilmore not return to Buffalo ahead of the 2017 season. Gilmore had arguably his best season with Buffalo in 2016. Before packing his bags for Foxboro, Gilmore played in 15 games for the Bills in 2016. Those 15 games were the most that he played for the Bills since his rookie season in 2012. 2016 also saw Gilmore amass the most tackles in his career as a Bill (48) and interceptions (5).

Gilmore didn’t come out of the gate strong in 2017 with the Patriots but he rebounded as the season went on. He finished 2017 with a new career-high in tackles (50) as well as a pair of interceptions. On Sunday, Gilmore had one of the defensive plays of the game when he tipped away a pass late in the game as the Jaguars were looking to make a comeback. In two weeks against the Eagles, Gilmore will once again need to have a solid day as the Eagles will look to pass the ball.
