The 2017 Buffalo Bills will not be in Super Bowl LII, but that doesn’t mean that several former players will not have the chance to win a championship in a couple of weeks.
On Sunday the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles punched their ticket to Super Bowl LII. The Patriots overcame a 10-point deficit in the 4th quarter to topple the Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Eagles throttled the Minnesota Vikings a few hours later. Super LII will be a rematch of Super Bowl XXXIX, where the Patriots defeated the Eagles 24-21.
Although the Buffalo Bills will not be representing the AFC in two weeks in Minneapolis, there will be a handful of former Bills playing on both the Patriots and Eagles.
When your favorite team doesn’t make it to the Super Bowl you’re forced to come up with several different reasons as to who you root for to win or lose the biggest game of the year. Sometimes it’s as easy as hating one of the teams less than the other, while other times it’s more challenging. For Bills’ fans it might be easy given that nobody in the Bills Mafia wants to see Tom Brady and company win yet another championship.
For those Bills’ fans who aren’t anti-Patriot, the rooting interest in the game could come down to which former Bills are on which side of the field.
