Limit the Penalties

Rex Ryan’s calling card during his tenure in Buffalo, and not that this is a good thing was untimely and unnecessary penalties, especially on special teams.

The Bills often played undisciplined football, and it almost always hurt them. There would be holding penalties on punts, lining up with 12 men, jumping off sides on critical third downs. It wasn’t good.

In the first three preseason games it was more of the same, but then something clicked in the fourth game. It seems like Bills head coach Sean McDermott’s message finally started to click.

McDermott has often preached hard work and discipline. It’s time to prove it.

"“When our fans turn the TV on or when they see us in the stadium, that they see the team that they see a team that plays hard,” McDermott said, via BuffaloBills.com. “They see a team that plays fundamentally sound. They see a team that plays as a team and plays together.”"
