Buffalo Bills: JP Losman will join Clemson Tigers with coaching internship

Former Buffalo Bills’ quarterback JP Losman will be the newest coaching intern to join head coach Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers.
Who remembers JP Losman? Well, if you’re a Buffalo Bills‘ fan, then the answer to that is yes — and probably not because he’s your favorite quarterback.
A shocker to most everyone, Losman’s name hit the news recently when Adam Schefter reported he will be joining the Clemson Tigers’ football coaching staff as an intern. It’ll be the start of his coaching career, which hopes to find more success than his playing days.

JP Losman will join the Tigers at the perfect time, entering the 2017 season defending the National Championship. However, there will be quite the interesting offseason with several players needing to step up.
The Clemson Tigers lost six players to the NFL Draft this year, which tied for the 8th Most by a single school. In addition to their starting quarterback (Deshaun Watson) and No. 1 wide receiver (Mike Williams), they also lost a cornerback, tight end, defensive tackle and running back.
JP Losman was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2004 with the 22nd overall pick. He was the big disappointment of the first round, with Big Ben, Eli Manning and Phillip Rivers also being drafted.

He would end up playing five seasons in Buffalo, recording a 10-23 record, 6,271 yards, 33 touchdowns and 34 interceptions. Bills’ fans must be sour looking at all the accolades and championships between the other three quarterbacks listed above.
After his five-year stint with the Buffalo Bills, Losman found some success in the UFL, leading Las Vegas to the championship. He would return to the NFL and have stints with the Raiders, Seahawks and Dolphins.
Joining a prestige football school like Clemson will allow Losman an opportunity to learn from some of the best and hopefully have a much more successful coaching career compared to his time in the NFL as a player,
As a Bills’ fan, even though he never panned out on the field, I wish him the best of luck moving forward with his new endeavors.
