ESPN’s Mike Clay gives 2017 record and player stat projections
By Ryan Brennan
How does Mike Clay see the Buffalo Bills’ position groups ranking against the rest of the league?
We’ve taken a look at the game-by-game predictions and the season stat projections, but nothing has really set the Buffalo Bills ahead of anyone else. With a disappointing record prediction and no real breakout seasons from anyone, Mike Clay doesn’t see a very successful 2017 campaign for Buffalo.
That stayed true with the position group rankings. In fact, he only had one position group ranking in the top ten — defensive tackle.
Let me throw that tweet up one more time:
Here are his rankings:
QB – 16th in the NFL
HB – 11th in the NFL
WR – 27th in the NFL
TE – 29th in the NFL
OL – 13th in the NFL
DT – 6th in the NFL
DE – 29th in the NFL
LB – 25th in the NFL
CB – 26th in the NFL
S – 32nd in the NFL
Offense: 22nd in the NFL
Defense: 30th in the NFL
Team: 28th in the NFL
Not too much to be excited about here. Mike Clay isn’t really helping bring any optimism to the Buffalo Bills‘ 2017 season.
In my opinion, I think he is underestimating the cornerback group, defensive end group, wide receiver group and tight end group. I would rank the offense around the mid-point and the defense around 22nd in the league.
