The 2016 Buffalo Bills Schedule Was Announced Today

The 2016 Buffalo Bills schedule was announced today and there are a number of interesting storylines to it.  We’ll discuss all of them and at the end, we will make our predictions for each game. First and foremost the team will play two prime-time games. Find out which weeks and opponents they are below.

The Bills will start off the season on the road against the Baltimore Ravens who had a terrible season last year. It will be real interesting to see Tyrod Taylor matchup against Joe Flacco who he used to backup.

They will play their first prime-time game of the season Week 2 against the Jets on Thursday Night Football at home. They will possibly be facing “Fitztragic” again or maybe Ik Enemkpali will be running after Geno Smith (this time during a game) if the Jets are unable to sign Fitzpatrick this offseason.

They will remain at home Week 3 against a very tough Arizona Cardinals team. Week 4 doesn’t get any easier when they have to play a road game against their dreaded division rivals the New England Patriots. The only good news for the Bills about this game is the Patriots are known to start the season slowly and maybe they can steal one from them in Foxboro.

Week 5 the Bills will make their first of three west coast trips when they head out to Los Angeles to play the Rams. This is one of only two games (not including the prime-time games) that will be at 4pm instead of 1pm.  They will head back to Buffalo to play the San Fransisco 49ers at home in Week 6.

Week 7 they will finally play the Miami Dolphins for the first time in Miami. The Dolphins signed a number of former Bills players this offseason including Mario Williams and it will be a fun matchup assuming Mario tries. Let’s hope that Buffalo continues to have their number after dominating them twice last season.

They follow-up with another divisional game at home against the New England Patriots at the Ralph Week 8. Week 9  they will play their second west coast game of the season in Seattle against the Seahawks in the Bills final prime-time game of the season on Monday Night Football.

Finally, it’s Week 10 and the Bills will get a chance to get healthy because it’s their bye week. Bye weeks start Week 4 this year and do not end until Week 13. The Bills got a relatively late bye week which is always better than an early one because it gives your players time to get healthy towards the end of the season when they are most likely to be banged up.

Coming off their bye they have a tough matchup against the Bengals in Cincinnati Week 11. The Bills will look to get their revenge against the Jacksonville Jaguars Week 12 at home after their meltdown, comeback, meltdown performance in London last year against the Jaguars with E.J. Manuel at the helm.

Week 13 the Bills will travel to the west coast for the third and last time of the season when they head to Oakland to face a young and improving Raiders team. The game against Oakland is the other game which will start at 4pm instead of 1pm. Week 14 they will get the Pittsburgh Steelers at home in the Ralph.

Week 15 they play another AFC North team when they face the Cleveland Browns at home. Week 16 they will play their third consecutive home game which is the longest home stretch of the season for them against their division rival the Miami Dolphins. This will be their first of two straight divisional games.

The other game is against the New York Jets Week 17 in New York to end the season. Last season the Jets and Bills played in Buffalo and the Bills denied the Jets a chance to make the playoffs by beating them. Let’s hope Buffalo does the same only this year doing it on the way to making the playoffs themselves.

So how many games will the Bills win next season? Let’s take a look.

The Bills will finish 10-6 and right on the verge of making the playoffs. We were so close to picking them to finish 9-7 because that Oakland game week 13 on the west coast is going to be tough but after much thought, the Bills are the better team and should be able to get the victory. Their playoff chances will come down to how other teams finish but we’re going to go out on a limb and say the Bills squeeze into the playoffs at 10-6 and finally end the 16-year drought.
