Bills vs. Titans: Q and A With Titan Sized

Fresh off their disappointing 24-10 loss to the New York Giants, the Buffalo Bills have a trip to Nashville for their second road game of the season against the Tennessee Titans. To help get Bills fans a look at the Titans, we reached out to Les Bailey, editor of Titan Sized, to preview this week’s contest.

The Titans are 1-2, and coming off their bye week. However, their 1-2 record, like that of the Giants last week, shouldn’t be taken as gospel for the skill of the team. This is a team that could easily be 2-1 or better. But what does Les think will happen this weekend? Let’s get into it.

You can see Titan Sized’s Q & A with myself right here.

BLD:

Let’s start with the obvious, what should the Bills need to look out for from Marcus Mariota if they want a chance to shut him down?

Titan Sized:

Marcus Mariota doesn’t have a lot of holes in his game and does not make a lot of rookie mistakes. The biggest problem he has is the supporting cast of players around him. And they are getting better each week.

BLD:

The Titans have a former bill in Da’Norris Searcy. How has the signing been for the Titans, and what role should Bills fans expect to see him in come Sunday?

Titan Sized:

I thought Da’Norris Searcy was a good pick up for the Titans and was the solid safety they needed who could play the run as well as drop in coverage. We don’t hear a lot about Searcy on a day-to-day basis and I think it’s because he is doing a great job. Michael Griffin is struggling and with Jason McCourty out with injuries, they needed a plug and play guy like Searcy.

BLD:

The big threat to many is Kendall Wright, but how big of a threat is Dorial Green-Beckham on the outside?

Titan Sized:

Mariota only hit six different receivers in the Bucs game but that might have been because he was on the sideline by the fourth quarter. He has hit 11-10 different receivers in the the Browns and Colts games respectivly but with that being said, Dorial Green-Beckham is the stud everyone is waiting to develop. Whisenhunt doesn’t want to force-feed him too quickly, but Beckham has three receptions and two were for touchdowns. The Bills are getting him early before he gets a head of steam and more experience.

BLD:

Tyrod Taylor has been a surprise, to say the least, this season. What can the Titans do to stop him?

Titan Sized:

Dick LeBeau will treat Tyrod Taylor the way he treats all young quarterbacks and that’s with multiple looks to try to confuse him, and pressure, pressure, pressure.LeBeau doesn’t blitz on every down, but it’s the constant pressure that takes it’s toll. I suspect that he will assign someone like Brian Orakpo to limit his running.

BLD:

Who takes home the W?

Titan Sized:

The Buffalo Bills need to bring their A-Game to Nashville because this team is pissed since they let the Colts game get away in the fourth quarter. They know that the AFC South is a division they can win if they can cut down on mistakes,  learn how to close a game and win. Marcus Mariota has become the leader of this team and the boy doesn’t have quit in his vocabulary.

Titans win this one 35-17
