It seems like it has been an eternity waiting for this pick to come in, but it is finally here. The Buffalo Bills made their first selection in the 2015 NFL Draft. With the 50th overall pick and the 18th pick of the 2nd round the Buffalo Bills went to the defensive secondary and took Ronald Darby, cornerback, from Florida St.

The Buffalo Bills had some options in which way they wanted to go and what depth need they wanted to address. It was predicted that the Buffalo Bills would look to take quarterback, tight end, inside linebacker, cornerback and offensive line. They filled one of those needs with the cornerback pick.
Darby is questionable on his play against the run game, but is a strong player in coverage. The Buffalo Bills kept with their choice of speedy players as Darby is a quick player running a 4.38 40 yard dash.
This pick fits into Rex Ryan’s strengths with his love of cornerbacks. He should give Leodis McKelvin and Corey Graham a fight for the starting cornerback job opposite of Stephon Gilmore.
With this pick, though, look for the Buffalo Bills and Rex Ryan to move Corey Graham to a safety spot.
NFL’s bottom line on Ronald Darby is…
"Cover corner with average size and outstanding speed. Has shown the instincts to play off coverage and the athleticism to play press. It is a bit of a concern that scouts and even opposing coaches have commented on Darby’s toughness, but he doesn’t have very many missed or broken tackles on his docket and his cover skills should be prioritized over his run support regardless. He clearly has starter’s ability at the position.– NFL.com"
I personally don’t like this pick, I think that there were other and better options for the Buffalo Bills that were still on the board that could have helped other areas that were a bit more in need than that of a defensive back. They still need another offensive lineman as well as a linebacker and could use a tight end. With T.J. Clemmings, Max Williams and Paul Dawson still available, I think that these would have been better options than a cornerback.
