The Bills waived 8 players over the weekend. 7 of those players were able to fall through waivers and be resigned to the practice squad. Those players were quarterback Jeff Tuel, safety Deon Broomfield, linebacker Jimmy Gaines, defensive end Ike Igbinosun, wide receiver Caleb Holley, defensive end Bryan Johnson and safety Kenny Ladler. The 8th player that was picked up off of waivers was that of T.J. Graham. He was signed by the Tennessee Titans. [Syracuse.com]
Michael Sam was cut from rosters over the weekend so the St. Louis Rams could get their squad down to 53. It was assumed that he would have made a practice squad on Sunday, but to no avail, he didn’t. Eric Wood commented via twitter on his thoughts as to why Sam didn’t make the team. [Daily News]
The Buffalo Bills announced their 2014 Captains for the upcoming season. Fred Jackson, Eric Wood are the only offensive players nominated by the team. The defense had 4 nominees. Brandon Spikes, Mario Williams, Kyle Williams, and Corey Graham. With both Spikes and Graham being nominated by the team, it shows who much leadership is on that defensive squad. [Syracuse.com]
The Buffalo Bills added 7 to the practice squad over the weekend and yesterday added two more. Guard D.J. Morrell and Fullback Lonnie Pryor. Morrell spent the preseason with the St. Louis Rams and played college ball at Old Dominion. Pryor was with the Buccaneers this preseason and was with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2013 on their practice squad. [Buffalo News]
