More from Bills History

Alan Branch was signed to a 3 year extension this past December.  With the financial responsibility looking to be 3.1 million that was issued as a signing bonus to Branch, that would be the extent that the Bills would lose should they cut Branch.  Branch did not participate in voluntary OTAs this past summer and also failed the conditioning test at the beginning of training camp.  He has seen action but only in the latter part of games. Is 3.1 million ok the throw away at this point if Branch is cut? [ESPN]

The Buffalo Bills have 13 undrafted free agents on their roster at this point.  Will the Bills have one undrafted free agent make the squad or will it be more, or none at all? Of the 12 safety Deon Broomfield leads all UDFAs with 75 snaps in 3 preseason games.  Center Macky MacPherson comes in second with 69 plays and LB Jimmy Gaines has 64 snaps so far.  Will one of these guys make it or one of the other 9 players? Get out and buy your Bills gear.  But buy it from Tee Shirt U.  Tee Shirt U has promised to rebate fans that buy Bills gear in August, up to 200 dollars if the Bills make the playoffs.  [FanSided]

The C.J. Spiller trade rumors are still in full swing even with the statement that Spiller is not on the trading block and that no teams have even contacted the Bills about Spiller.  Sports World Report looks at the options for the Oakland Raiders and the Philadelphia Eagles to trade  for Spiller and not extent his contract.  [Sports World Report]

Sammy Watkins sustained a rib injury early in the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Watkins left the game and didn’t return.  It was reported that Watkins had a bruised rib.  He sat out Monday’s practice and was seen riding the stationary bike.  Good news, Watkins did return to practice on Tuesday. He was not a full participant but he is back practicing.  [Syracuse.com]
