Buffalo Bills History Book

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Takes a lot to get this guy to read anything not on the internet, but I am still a sucker for anything that deals with the history of the Buffalo Bills. Just came across this site that has all old newspaper clippings from Buffalo Bills History . I ordered it, and will come back to let you know how it is, but this is what the description on the website says: Commemorate the history of your favorite team with The New York Times Greatest Moments in Buffalo Bills History! This is a unique compilation of historic newspaper pages from The [...]

Bills Host Dareus, Kerrigan

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Bills are entertaining two prospects today, Alabama’s Marcell Dareus and Purdue’s DE Ryan Kerrigan. I feel that Dareus is #1 on our big board and will be a Bill if he’s available, but Kerrigan is surprising to me.  I don’t really see him as a good fit for our defense.  I don’t feel he’s athletic enough to be an effective 3-4 rush backer, but maybe we’re looking at him for 3-4 end if he bulks up a bit more.

Are Bills Fans Anti-Newton?

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Wanted to share a recent poll featured on SportsNation that involved the Buffalo Bills. The question was simple: Should the Buffalo Bills draft Cam Newton with their 3rd overall pick? And after over 10,000 votes, the fans have decided that the Bills should not look to draft Newton in the 2011 NFL Draft, but it was a close one. 55% of the Nation voted No while 45% voted Yes Co-host Colin Cowherd disagreed with viewers, “They do need a quarterback. For unglamorous NFL franchises—Buffalo, Jacksonville—how do you get glamorous players? You draft them. Free agents aren’t going to go to [...]

A Case Against the Bills Taking a QB

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

With speculation swirling that the Bills are targeting Newton/Gabbert at 3 or Locker/Mallett/Ponder at 34, I’d like to make the argument that it’s not necessarily in the franchise’s best interests to select a QB this season. Argument #1: Give my guy Levi Brown a chance If this kid gets a chance to, he’s going to develop into a good NFL starter.  As the #2 this year, he’ll have the opportunity to really grow as a player and his development can take off.  However, if we bring in another guy and he is relegated to the 3rd spot again, there’s a [...]

QB Cam Newton Visits Monday

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Auburn QB Cam Newton will visit the Bills tomorrow.  Head Coach Chan Gailey has offered effusive praise of Newton the past few weeks, but I’d still be surprised if we ended up going in that direction of draft day. Cash in over the NFL spreads when you get picks from top NFL handicappers.

Steal of the Draft?

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

While he isn’t a great fit for the Bills, I do want to give some love to a relatively unheralded prospect from USC, Jurrell Casey. Casey probably made a poor decision declaring for the draft after his junior season, considering the depth at the defensive tackle position in this class.  That aside, he’ll end up providing great value for a team in the 3rd-4th round (where most seem to have him projected).  He’s undersized, around 6-foot and 300 pounds, but he is one of the most violent defensive tackles I’ve ever scouted.

Playing it safe or going for the more talented player?

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

One of the classic arguments around this time is whether or not to venture a high pick on a very talented player or on a less talented guy that has a higher floor. In this situation, I’m referring to the debate between Alabama’s Marcell Dareus and Auburn’s Nick Fairley. This may end up becoming a moot point, considering that Dareus’ buzz is that he won’t get by Denver at #2.  However, play out this scenario with me. From a talent standpoint, I feel that Fairley has the physical tools and aggressiveness to become one of the league’s nastiest and dominant [...]
