Banged Up Bills Making Strides

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Even though this offseason has been riddled with injuries, the Bills may not be in the worst of shape when it comes to week one of the regular season. It appears as though many of the walking wounded appear to be on the fast track toward making it back onto the field. Here is the latest news on a few of the preseason and camp injuries: Fred Jackson: Freddy has returned to the practice field and shed his cast. It sounds to me that Coach Gailey feels that Fred will be ready to go in week one, but only on [...]

ESPN Continues Their Bills Bashing

AUTHOR: | IN: Around The League | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Of course going into the season, every NFL team starts 0-0, but that doesn’t stop the ‘experts’ including ESPN in drilling their own opinions about how teams and players will play this season. It first started this morning on Sportscenter where the Monday Night Football crew sat around and predicted how many games each team in the AFC East will win. When it came time to talk about the Bills, the questions was: Will the Buffalo Bills win more or less than five games? Ron Jaworski answer was less because “Chan Gailey needs a little bit of time to get [...]

The Bills Look Great, But…

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

There is a certain buzz around the Buffalo Bills for the first time this offseason. While the Bills generally manage to do enough in the offseason to generate excitement among the most fiercely loyal of NFL fans, it has taken a while to set in for the 2010 season. This season, it took some good old-fashioned results on the field, not some big name signing, to create a buzz in Buffalo about their Bills. While it is nice to have something to get excited about, let’s try and maintain our realism, and see this team as it really is. For [...]

On a Bills roster that is yearning for more playmakers, wide receiver David Nelson may have found himself a home. The undrafted rookie out of the University of Florida has made quite a name for himself this preseason. Despite missing the second preseason game due to injury, Nelson has been able to pull in 7 catches for 81 and 2 touchdowns in the other two games.

Bills Beat Bengals 35-20

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Bills had another encouraging performance as they bested the Cincinnati Bengals 35-20. C.J. Spiller kept fans buzzing about his highlight reel runs, scoring two touchdowns to lead the way for a suddenly sound offensive attack. After the offense’s first drive was stifled due to a couple of negative runs by Spiller, it looked as if it was the same old Buffalo offense. But following a Carson Palmer touchdown pass, the Bills continued to look reinvigorated under Chan Gailey. The numbers tell a lot of the story. Trent Edwards was 13-17 for 153 yards and a touchdown, with no ints. [...]

Brohm vs. Fitzpatrick

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

So maybe this isn’t quite Ali-Frazier or even Flutie-Johnson. However, it is an important battle for the Bills to resolve before the start of the regular season. With Trent Edwards on sure footing as the starter at this point, and Levi Brown likely to be the third string QB, so the Bills don’t lose him to teams scouring practice squads, there is just one spot left for either Ryan Fitzpatrick or Brian Brohm on the Bills’ roster. To this point, both Fitzpatrick and Brohm have had one chance to show what they can do in the preseason. Fitzpatrick was 9-14 [...]

Bills/Bengals Preview

AUTHOR: | IN: Previews | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

T.O and the Cincinnati Bengals come to town tomorrow for the Bills first preseason game of the year at Ralph Wilson Stadium. While there is still plenty of work to do, the Bills hope to build off of their impressive offensive performance last week vs the Colts in Toronto. The third preseason game is viewed as the most important due to the starters playing well into the 3rd quarter of these games. So this can be seen as a final tuneup for the first string players. So far, all we know is Trent Edwards will be starting at quarterback. As [...]
