The NFL season is flying by and we are entering the last six weeks of the regular season. Now is the time where we have a better understanding of which teams are more than likely playoff bound, while others are fighting for a wild card spot. Then you have the teams that are in the race for the first overall pick in the 2025 draft.

Fortunately for the Buffalo Bills, they are closer to the Super Bowl contender category than anything else. After an offseason where the Bills were labeled as rebuilding and potentially losing the AFC East, they have silenced all doubters through 12 games. Coming off a bye, Buffalo sits at 9-2, well ahead in the AFC East and are chasing the number one seed in the AFC.

This weekend, the Bills are back in primetime for a Sunday night matchup against the San Fancisco 49ers. It could be the first snow game of the year for Bills Mafia and what better way than having it against a team from California. The 49ers are not your typical dominant team that they have been in recent memory. They’ve been heavily affected by injuries and Brock Purdy’s status is still up in the air for Sunday night.

While Bills fans wait for Sunday Night Football, they may want to check out some key games that could determine where Buffalo will stand in the conference standings by the time 8:20PM rolls around. We have listed the games that matter the most and which teams Bills fans should hope comes out with a victory.

Who should Bills fans root for while waiting for Sunday night?

Miami Dolphins @ Green Bay Packers

Thursday, 11/28 - 8:20PM

To end the Thanksgiving slate of games, the Dolphins are leaving the warm weather behind them as they enter legendary Lambeau Field to take on Jordan Love and the Packers. There is no denying that Miami has been playing a lot better with Tua Tagovailoa coming back from his concussion, but the Dolphins are still playing a ton of catchup and now they get to play in chilly weather, which they tend to struggle in.

If the Packers are able to defeat the Dolphins, that will set the Bills up to potentially win the AFC East if they beat the 49ers. So in this case, Bills fans should be rooting for the Packers.

Las Vegas Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs

Friday, 11/29 - 3PM

The Bills are only one game behind the Chiefs for the top seed in the conference. With Buffalo defeating Kansas City in Week 11, they hold the tiebreaker over them so all the Bills need is to have the same record as the Chiefs and they will jump them in the standings. Unfortunately, they may not get that opportunity to do it because the Raiders are a complete mess.

Gardner Minshew is out of the season and at the end of the day, the Chiefs losing within the AFC West doesn’t happen very often. While the Raiders did pull off a Christmas win last season against the Chiefs, that luck may have run out on them. Either way, Bills fans should be hoping for a major upset of the Chiefs.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals

Sunday, 12/1 - 1PM

The Steelers might be the biggest surprise of the season, and for the right reason. They moved off of Kenny Pickett, signed Russell Wilson after a disastrous tenure in Denver, and they ten traded for Justin Fields. After all of that, the Steelers are one of the top teams in the AFC at 8-3 and are looking to win the AFC North from the Baltimore Ravens.

The Steelers are just one game behind the Bills, so Buffalo is going to need a little bit of help from the Cincinnati Bengals to distance Pittsburgh from them in the standings.

Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Sunday, 12/1 - 1PM

The Texans delivered Buffalo’s second loss of the season in Week 5 and it was an ugly loss for the Bills. Due to their careless mistakes and Josh Allen playing horrifically, the Texans now own the tiebreaker over the Bills. The good news for Buffalo is that they are two games ahead of Houston because the Texans have been playing horrible football lately.

The Texans are coming off an ugly loss against the Titans and the Jaguars have the chance to put their second consecutive division loss. It’s hard to see the Texans dropping this game, but anything is possible. Bills fans should be rooting for Duval County in this AFC South matchup.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Baltimore Ravens

Sunday, 12/1 - 4:25PM

In what is most likely the game of the week, the Eagles and Ravens face off in what should be a back and forth affair. Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts vs. Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson. This should be an electric game. It can be a fun game to watch, but Bills fans will need to hope that the Eagles continue to fly to victory and knock off the Ravens.

Much like the Texans, the Ravens own the tiebreaker over Buffalo and they are right behind the Bills in the standings.
