Training camp within the NFL begins this week and the season is almost here (let’s go!). The Buffalo Bills have reported to St. John Fisher University and will have their first practice tomorrow in front of a live crowd. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Bills going into this season and expectations have never been higher.

The Bills open up their season at home under the lights on Sunday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens so they will be battle tested right out of the gate. After that, they have a bit of a less stressful stretch against the Jets, Dolphins, and Saints. Maybe the Jets will give them a push or two, but these three games should be wins for the Bills.

Then in Week 5, the Bills will be back on Sunday Night Football where they will welcome a newly revamped New England Patriots team led by head coach Mike Vrabel and quarterback Drake Maye. However, a recent training camp update from New England may have just hinted that the Bills will be seeing a very familiar face making his return to Buffalo for the first time since 2023.

Former Bill Stefon Diggs set to make return to Buffalo in Week 5 after training camp update

According to Karen Gureian of MassLive Sports, Diggs is cleared for training camp and Vrabel also said that Diggs “had no limitations”. Diggs tore his ACL last season and signed a three-year deal to join the Patriots and come back to the AFC East.

Assuming that Diggs can stay healthy and on the field early on in the season, there is a fantastic chance that he will be making his return to Buffalo for the first time since being traded last offseason to the Houston Texans. Things between Diggs and the Bills were tense for over a year at the end of his tenure and once the Bills saw that they could win without him, there was no need to keep him on the roster.

Beane decided to take on a $30 million+ dead cap hit to move on from him which should show what the Bills must have been going through with the drama with Diggs. Now, he is with a division rival that is looking to chase the Bills for the AFC East after being one of the worst teams the last couple of seasons.
