When the schedule for the Buffalo Bills was released back in May, it did the Bills no favors for the start of the Joe Brady era. Not only will they be taking on some of the best teams, but they will be going up against some of the overall best players in the league.
While one of Buffalo’s biggest strengths they have is their pass-defense, there will be some dynamic wide receivers that they will be tasked to stop. It’s tough to stop one great receiver, but it’s another thing to stop another weapon in addition to the first dynamic receiver.
Bills set to face 5 top WR duos in 2026
Jared Dubin from CBS Sports put together a power rankings list of NFL dynamic duos going into the 2026 season, and the Bills will be seeing five out of the eight listed duos. Below are the duos that Dubin listed that the Bills will be going up against:
A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs - New England Patriots - Weeks 4 & 13
Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton - Denver Broncos - Week 16
Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison - Minnesota Vikings - Week 9
Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams - Detroit Lions - Week 2
Puka Nacua and Davante Adams - Los Angeles Rams - Week 5
After taking a tough Texans team in Week 1, the Bills will be hosting the Lions on a short week where they will have to deal with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. Detroit hired Drew Petzing as their new offensive coordinator which should improve their offense from last season.
Buffalo will then have to face the duos of A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs, and Puka Nacua and Davante Adams in back-to-back weeks, so that task will be extremely hard for the secondary. The good thing about it is that Buffalo will face New England on Sunday in Week 4, and then get an extra day of preparation for a Week 5 Monday Night Football game in Los Angeles.
In the middle of the season, the Bills will then head up to Minnesota who has arguably the best receiver in the game in Justin Jefferson, and Jordan Addison who has shown to be a quality No. 2. However, Minnesota's quarterback situation is still a tricky situation.
Finally, on Christmas Day, the Bills will be in Denver to take on the Broncos who made a splash by trading for former Miami Dolphin Jaylen Waddle, who is very familiar with playing against the Bills. Courtland Sutton is also a solid No. 2 option.
Buffalo’s secondary that features Christian Benford, Maxwell Hairston, Davison Igbinosun, and Dee Alford will have their hands full against these duos if they stay healthy. Jim Leonhard is going to have to do a lot of preparation for these duos if the Bills defense wants to avoid being the reason why the Bills could lose.
