Up to this point, the Buffalo Bills’ biggest splash has been agreeing to trade for wide receiver D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears (which will be officially processed tomorrow at 4pm EST). However, they still have lots of room for growth at that position as they need quality depth and still need a No. 2 target for Josh Allen.

Buffalo’s passing attack has been inconsistent the last two seasons and even though Khalil Shakir is a solid slot receiver, he should not be the best option or two in the offense. With Moore set to be the No. 1 option, bringing in a quality No. 2 is a key move that the Bills have to make.

WR Christian Kirk is a valuable No. 2 WR that Bills need to add

One receiver that almost no fans are talking about is wideout Christian Kirk, who spent last season with the Houston Texans and has also been apart of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Arizona Cardinals. Kirk would be a solid second option next to Moore and Clayton Anderson, Site Expert for Toro Times (covering the Houston Texans) explains why Kirk would be a great addition for any team in free agency.

"The Houston Texans traded a 2026 seventh-round pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for the services of veteran wide receiver Christian Kirk. After wide receiver Stefon Diggs left in free agency, Kirk was thought to be capable of replacing Diggs' production in some capacity as an experienced presence who could help provide an extra set of reliable hands for quarterback C.J. Stroud." said Anderson.

"Unfortunately, the regular season wasn't kind to Kirk, as he only hauled in 28 receptions (second-worst of career) for 239 yards (career worst) and only one touchdown (tied for lowest of career). Then, Kirk exploded in the playoffs, as he set a Texans' franchise record for receiving yards in a single postseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with 144. The 29-year old now enters free agency valued at roughly $5.4 million APY, which is a far cry from the $18-$21 million on average he was making when he signed with the Jaguars in 2022." said Anderson.

Kirk did have a very underwhelming regular season performance, but the Texans’ offense was also very shaky and there have been questions on whether or not C.J. Stroud is a true franchise quarterback. However, his performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the playoffs definitely earned him atleast one more contract in the NFL.

Kirk and Josh Allen also have a friendship outside of the game, so there is a connection already. Not to mention, Kirk would have the chance to make his mark in an offense that is being led by Joe Brady, so he could very well be heavily involved. It makes too much sense for the Bills and Kirk to agree to terms, but only time will tell.
