Bills fans are hoping that one time, just one time, that they will be able to see Josh Allen lead the Buffalo Bills onto the field on a Super Bowl Sunday. Since the 2019 season, the Bills have consistently been in the playoffs and have come up close, yet so far away from the big game.
Since the start of this decade, they have been to the AFC championship game twice, but lost both of those games to the Kansas City Chiefs. A lot of people thought that the Bills would make a run at the Super Bowl last year, since the Chiefs, Bengals, and Ravens were all out of the postseason. As we know, the Broncos had different plans and ended up beating the Bills.
Now we are back at the point where we are rapidly approaching the 2026 season, and there are all kinds of projections coming out whether it includes records, division winners, or Super Bowl matchups.
Super Bowl matchup prediction gives Bills worst possible matchup
Now, you would think that this is unreal to say because of the fact that the Bills and making the Super Bowl are in the same sentence. However, Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone recently put together a rankings list of the most likely Super Bowl matchups going into this season and Scataglia has the Bills going up against the worst possible opponent.
Scataglia put the matchup of the Buffalo Bills vs. Los Angeles Rams as the No. 2 most likely matchup, behind the matchup of the Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Rams.
"For years, the Buffalo Bills have faltered in the playoffs, as quarterback Josh Allen actually has the most playoff wins of a quarterback that has not started in the Super Bowl. Something has to change, right?" said Scataglia.
"Well, no, but the Bills did make a head coaching change, going from Sean McDermott and Joe Brady, and that could be enough. Allen is still excellent and one of the best players in the NFL, and we have seen this team in the playoffs each year since 2019, so perhaps one season of the Bills making it to the Super Bowl wouldn't surprise us." Scataglia added.
The Rams were already the overall best team in the NFL, and you could make the argument that they, not the Seattle Seahawks, should have been in the Super Bowl last season. They already have the reigning MVP in Matthew Stafford, and a great 1-2 receiver combo in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.
Now, they have Myles Garrett on the defense to go with their already ferocious unit. Let’s not forget either, the Super Bowl this upcoming season will be back in SoFi stadium, so the Rams could easily have home field advantage.
The Bills will already be taking on the Rams this season in Week 5 on Monday Night Football, which will already be difficult. While the Bills should not fear any opponent, if they were to face the Rams twice this season which includes the Super Bowl, it could be a potential disaster for the Bills considering how great overall the Rams are.
