One free agent that many fans are still surprised that hasn’t signed with a team is former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper. Yet, he wasn’t the most impactful free agent that was with the Bills last season. That was cornerback Rasul Douglas who the Bills traded for in the middle of the 2023 season.

Many Bills fans were wondering if Douglas would come back to Buffalo seeing as how cornerback was a big time weakness going into this past offseason. Instead of bringing him back, the Bills decided to draft three rookie corners including in the first round with Maxwell Hairston. After him, they drafted Jordan Hancock and Dorian Strong.

Not to mention, before the draft they brought back Tre’Davious White on a one-year deal. With everything that has happened, there is almost no way that Douglas will be with the Bills anytime soon. So now that begs the question, where will he sign if he signs at all?

Listed landing spot has Rasul Douglas joining a conference rival that isn't Kansas City

Kristopher Knox from Bleacher Report recently listed Douglas as one of the few best remaining free agents and he listed the Cincinnati Bengals as a logical landing spot. Here’s what Knox said about the idea of Douglas going to Cincinnati:

"The Cincinnati Bengals would also be wise to give Douglas a look. Cincinnati fired defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo and replaced him with Al Golden this offseason, hoping to provide a quick fix for last year's 25th-ranked defense.
However, the Bengals have essentially done nothing to address a secondary that ranked 19th in net yards per pass attempt allowed last season. Douglas could give Cincinnati some playmaking potential on the perimeter."

In addition to Cincinnati, Knox also put Miami as a landing spot seeing as how the Dolphins and Douglas have reportedly had conversations but have not agreed on anything. However, if Douglas wanted to be on a more competitive team that has Buffalo’ number in recent memory, then the Bengals are the way to go.

I’m completely aware that Cincinnati is in the midst of contract drama with their star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson, and they still have yet to sign their first-round pick in Shemar Stewart. At the same time, if the Bengals wanted to bring some sort of stability to their secondary then Douglas would be a great short-term solution for them.

Buffalo and Cincinnati may not have the biggest rivalry in the NFL, but the Bengals have beaten the Bills a lot in recent memory. Not to mention, the Bengals will also be traveling to Buffalo to take on the Bills in early December so it would become a revenge game for Douglas should he become a Bengal.
