Bills fans are already upset at the fact that in what should be the leading candidate for game of the year, they saw a heartbreaker fail of a comeback from the Bills against the Los Angeles Rams. Being donw by 17 points at one point, no one expected this game to come down to the final two minutes of the game. However, Josh Allen had other ideas.

Despite Allen playing like the MVP of the league, his heroics couldn’t overcome the numerous amounts of mistakes the Bills made on defense, and special teams as well.

Starting with the defense, the Bills defense gave up over 400 total yards to the Rams and didn’t sack Matthew Stafford once. Instead, they allowed Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp to play like the superstars we all know and Nacua specifically was the star of the Rams offense. He ended his game with 12 catches for 162 yards and one rushing touchdown.

In addition, the Rams’ rushing attack obliterated the Bills defense, rushing for over 100 yards and even rookie running back Blake Corum had a few good runs himself behind Kyren Williams.

For special teams, their first biggest mistake (which was the ultimate deciding factor), was the blocked punt the Rams had against Sam Martin and they returned in for a touchdown in the second quarter to take an early 17-7 lead. This was the start of the downfall for the Bills.

Sean McDermott then reveals inexcusable way the Bills lost vs. Rams

According to Alaina Getzenberg, per Sean McDermott, the Bills had a chance to block a last second punt late in the fourth quarter to try and set themselves into field goal range. Instead, they couldn't couldn't go for a block or even a return because there wasn't enough players on the field. Bill Barnwell that showed a graphic of the Bills only having nine players on the field the last play of the game.

This is an embarrassing look on the Bills coaching management. Sean McDermott and Special Teams coordinator Matthew Smiley should have made sure that the Bills were in a position to potentially make a game-changing play that could have resulted in them escaping a win. Instead, the Bills allowed seven seconds to run off without any sort of try to make an impact and now they have their third loss of the season.

For this to happen, it shows frustration and anger as to how the little things getting missed ends up hurting the team.
