The Buffalo Bills have reigned supreme in the AFC East in seven of the last eight seasons, including six straight. It's been a different story in the general landscape of the AFC, however, with the omnipresence of the dynastic Kansas City Chiefs in their way.
It seems like every year, the Bills and the Baltimore Ravens are seemingly competing for second-place in the conference, but this year should be different. The Chiefs finally showed signs of slowing down in last year's Super Bowl, and the Bills have a more loaded roster than recent campaigns.
Buffalo's 2025 campaign actually starts against the Ravens on Sunday Night Football in Week 1. Baltimore went ahead and locked in one of their best players, safety Kyle Hamilton, on a four-year, $100.4 million deal before the season opener.
Ravens star safety Kyle Hamilton is solely focused on the Bills in Week 1
This contract makes Hamilton the highest-paid safety in NFL history, which is obviously a huge accomplishment. Bills fans know his impact better than anyone, as he has 16 tackles and a fumble recovery in his two full career games against Buffalo.
When asked about the deal and whether it causes him to reflect on his status as a potential Ravens great, Hamilton chose instead to name-drop the Bills in an attempt to get the conversation focused back on football.

As mentioned, the Bills will host the Ravens at Highmark Stadium on September 7 as they kickoff the 2025 NFL season in primetime. For Hamilton to assert that this is all he is thinking about, however, feels a bit contrived.

A $100 million contract is not something that pops up every day, and Hamilton should be proud of this accomplishment. Instead, it seems like he is torturing himself figuring out how he is going to stop Josh Allen and Co. in Week 1.
Baltimore's defense is full of great players and has a tremendous coaching staff as well, so this will be no easy task for Allen and the offense. But, much like Hamilton, the Bills are solely focused on shutting down the Ravens as they come into their house for the opener.
Hamilton is a great player, and he could very well give Buffalo's offense fits in a few weeks. But Bills Mafia is hoping that they can make the former Notre Dame star look like a massive overpay to begin the year.
