When we look back on the 2025 season that the Buffalo Bills had, it will forever be remembered as a season that had some of the best and worst performances that we had ever seen. It was very much an up-and-down season for the Bills, but they still made it to the playoffs despite the massive challenges they faced with the roster.
Buffalo’s season came to an end in Denver in the playoffs, despite making a second half comeback and forcing overtime. It was a bitter ending to a season that had all sorts of emotions for the Bills and fans.
However, while the mood in Buffalo is anger with disappointment in the mix, the Bills did deliver some solid performances throughout this season.
Bills delievered some great games in 2025 season
Week 1 vs. Ravens
Kicking off the Farewell Season in the current Highmark Stadium, the Bills hosted Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens that ended up being one of the best games of not just the season, but arguably in history as well.
Buffalo and Baltimore went back and forth, but the Ravens’ offense was just becoming too much for the Bills’ defense. Derrick Henry couldn’t be stopped and Lamar Jackson had some clutch throws that made it feel like Buffalo was going to start off 1-0. Then, Josh Allen entered the chat and things changed.
Down by 15 getting late in the 4th quarter, Allen put on a huge performance that brought the Bills back into the game. In addition, the defense made a clutch forced fumble and stop at the end of the game to give the ball back to Allen and the offense, being down by 2 points.
After driving it down the field, new kicker Matt Prater who had just arrived in Buffalo kicked the game-winning field goal to give the Bills a 41-40 win.
Week 2 @ Jets
The following week after that win, the Bills went into MetLife Stadium and delivered a big 30-10 beatdown against the New York Jets. Buffalo only allowed the Jets to gain 154 total yards and the leading passer for the Jets was Tyrod Taylor…who was the Jets’ backup to Justin Fields.
This was one of those games where Buffalo dominated from start to finish and they easily took care of business against the worst team overall in the league.
Week 8 @ Panthers
It took six weeks until the Bills had themselves another great performance, and this time it was against the Carolina Panthers where James Cook absolutely dominated the ground. He rushed for 216 yards on the ground and had 2 touchdowns to add to it.
In addition, Buffalo’s defense wouldn’t let Andy Dalton and the offense get going at all. Carolina put up just nine points and didn’t get into the endzone until the 4th quarter. Buffalo won this game, 40-9 in a cleanup game after losing badly to the Atlanta Falcons two weeks prior.
Week 11 vs. Buccaneers
Coming off a disastrous loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Bills welcomed Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers for a Week 11 showdown in Orchard Park. This was the first game where Josh Allen broke out the Superman cape and carried the Bills to a 44-32 victory where Allen had 6 total touchdowns in a game for the second time in his career.
That’s also where Tyrell Shavers had a bit of his breakout game due to Keon Coleman being a healthy scratch, so the Bills were able to unlock a potential contributor moving forward with Shavers.
Week 14 vs. Bengals
The Bills were down 28-18 in the 4th quarter and it felt like they were not going to pull off a win over the Bengals. Then the Bills came alive in the 4th quarter. Josh Allen ran 40 yards for a touchdown to come within 3 points of the Bengals, and then Christian Benford picked off Joe Burrow and returned it to the house to give the Bills the lead.
After that, Burrow was picked off again by A.J. Epenesa with Buffalo having the lead, and then scored another touchdown to make it 39-28. Being down by ten points to go up by 11 was absolutely unbelievable. While the Bengals did score one more time to try and comeback, it wasn’t enough as Buffalo secured the 39-34 victory.
Week 15 @ Patriots
It was a horrible first half for the Bills in this game. The Patriots jumped out to an early 21-0 lead and it looked like the Patriots were going to win the AFC East right in front of Buffalo. However, the Bills had different plans in the second half.
After kicking another field goal to go up 24-7, the Patriots let the Bills score 21 unanswered points and Buffalo went up 28-24. New England and Buffalo each got another touchdown in the 4th quarter and the Bills ended up securing a thrilling 35-31 win in Foxborough to keep the AFC East title away from New England just a little bit longer.
Week 18 vs. Jets
In what turned out to be the final game ever played at the old Highmark Stadium, the Bills put on a show against the New York Jets, winning 35-8 with their backups in. Mitch Trubisky passed for 259 yards and 4 touchdowns in a game where it was never close.
They wore their throwback red helmets and they looked great delivering one last win in that stadium before they move across the street.
