The goal for every NFL team should be playing for the Super Bowl. While that goal is realistic for some, it’s also very unlikely for some teams. However anything can happen, but we all know the teams that have a better chance at securing the #1 overall pick in the following NFL Draft than they do making the Super Bowl.

Since the arrival of Sean McDermott and then eventually Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills have been in a Super Bowl window but they still have yet to make it. Since 2017, the Bills have lost to the Jaguars, Texans, and Bengals once, and then have lost to the Chiefs four of the last five playoff meetings.

Kansas City is officially out of the playoffs, and so is Cincinnati. In addition, there is a chance where Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens could miss out on the playoffs. For Buffalo, this has to be the year that they finally do it.

Bills fans feel mixed emotions about projected Super Bowl matchup

Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone put together a list of potential Super Bowl matchups that are most likely to happen, and Scataglia has the Bills in one potential matchup as the second best option. Scataglia has the Bills taking on the Los Angeles Rams.

"How about the LA Rams versus the Buffalo Bills? With and AFC playoffs likely without all of Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow, many have said that this could be the year for the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen can turn into Superman when his team needs him to the most, but the huge defensive concerns are a thing, and the lack of high-end weapons on offense could limit this team in the playoffs. However, Buffalo is routinely deep into the postseason, so they have the experience."

These two teams met last season where the Rams squeezed out a 44-42 victory despite Josh Allen scoring six total touchdowns. LA is playing like the best team in football this season and Matthew Stafford is having himself a true MVP year. This would be a dynamic Super Bowl matchup, but not exactly the best matchup for the Bills.

LA has two No. 1 wide receivers in Davante Adams and Puka Nacua, and they can effectively run the ball. Buffalo’s defense has been shaky at best and they have been very below average at stopping the run.

However, the Rams defense has had their ups and downs as well, and they would be forced to stop Josh Allen which we all know is an extremely big challenge for any team. Not to mention, James Cook has become one of the best running backs in football the last couple of seasons.

If this matchup were to come true, it would be a great east coast vs. west coast game for all fans to tune into.
