The fact that we are approaching mid-July and former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper isn’t on a team is beyond me. It was a bit of a down year for Cooper last season, but he was traded from Cleveland to Buffalo and then dealt with a wrist injury in the middle of the season. Not to mention, he was learning a new offense as well.
Since the Bills had traded away a 3rd round pick, there were a lot of fans who thought that maybe Cooper would be brought back to Buffalo for atleast one more season that way he would have a full offseason to get prepared for the season on a team. Instead, the Bills moved on and Cooper is still a free agent.
The biggest takeaway with Cooper still being a free agent is that there hasn’t been a ton of coverage on him being linked to a specific team. I definitely don’t believe he is coming back to Buffalo considering the fact Joshua Palmer and Elijah Moore are now in town. However, anything can happen at any time…
Amari Cooper's projected landing spot for 2025 season makes too much sense
Moe Moton from Bleacher Report projected various scenarios as NFL training camps start to happen and one of those predictions was Cooper signing with the Los Angeles Rams.
"At 31, coming off a down year, Amari Cooper isn't going to break the bank in his first offseason as a free agent. As a perennial postseason contender, the Rams could appeal to the five-time Pro Bowler who may want a chance to play in the Super Bowl at this stage in his career."Moe Moton, Bleacher Report
First off, a trio of Davante Adams, Puka Nacua, and Amari Cooper would be scary within the NFC West with Matthew Stafford throwing the ball. Secondly, Cooper would be joining a playoff contender who was very close to beating the Philadelphia Eagles last season in the playoffs.
In addition, the Bills don’t play the Rams in the regular season and wouldn’t see them until potentially the Super Bowl (assuming that they both make it) so Cooper wouldn’t have the chance to prove that Buffalo should have re-signed him. This prediction makes too much sense for Cooper. However, who knows if the Rams would take a chance on him.
