Predicting Josh Allen's Week 7 stats vs. Tennessee Titans
By Brandon Ray
Through six games of the season, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen still has yet to throw an interception. That was something that most, if not all fans did not expect. However, Bills Mafia is more than happy with that. At the same time, he did have one of the worst games of his career in Week 5 against the Houston Texans, completing only 30% of his passes. The good news is that he bounced back last week against a tough New York Jets squad.
Believe it or not, Allen is not near the top of the league in terms of passing yards. Despite 13 total touchdowns (10 through the air), he only has 1,160 passing yards which is less than players like Bo Nix, Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence, and Daniel Jones. At the same time, the Bills are 4-2 and they aren’t Josh Allen dependent like they once were.
Allen still has yet to throw for over 300 yards this season, but it doesn’t matter the stat line as long as the Bills get out with the victory. Going up against a tough Tennessee Titans defense, Allen will have to be on his A-game and make the Titans play catchup on offense.
Tennessee has given up the least amount of yards this season (1,244 yards), with the next closest team being the Miami Dolphins (1,427), according to Pro Football Reference. Even though the Titans are 1-4, their defense has not been the problem. This could give Allen some trouble if they rattle him.
Allen is 3-2 against the Titans in his career, having passed for 1,234 yards, and a great 11 touchdown-to-5 interception ratio. However, the Titans have a much better defense now than they had in those meetings. With Amari Cooper looking to make his Bills debut, it will be interesting to see if Allen and Cooper connect early on or if the offensive scheme will stay the same like it has all season long.
Either way, Allen is playing smart football for the most part and despite the Titans having a great defense, this game just feels like Allen could have close to a career game.
