In the Josh Allen-era, the Buffalo Bills have always been a team that has had the overall talent to be one of the best teams in the league. The biggest thing that they have been missing was someone on defense who can cause chaos and make opposing offenses make mistakes. Buffalo tried it with future Hall of Famer Von Miller but it didn’t work out whatsoever for various reasons.

After releasing Miller back in March, the Bills went out and signed Joey Bosa who spent nearly the last decade on the west coast with the Chargers. Bosa signed a one-year deal worth up to $12.6 million. Injuries have caught up with Bosa the last couple of seasons. From 2022-2023, he played in 14 regular season games because of multiple injuries. He hasn’t played nearly a full season since 2021.

Now he has moved across the country for a one-year prove it deal with a Bills team that is ready to win it all. The big question that lots of Bills fans are asking about Bosa is whether or not he can be the missing piece that Buffalo needs in order to get over the top.

Can Joey Bosa be the difference maker for Bills in 2025?

In 9 seasons, Bosa has recorded 10+ sacks four times with the last time doing it in 2021 (10.5 sacks). Do I believe Bosa will lead the Bills in sacks? No, I believe that Greg Rousseau will. At the same time, I am a big believer in Bosa staying healthy due to the fact that the Bills rotate their pass rushers very often.

Bosa was a three-down pass rusher in LA and it contributed to some injuries that he had over the years. Now that he doesn’t need to be one, it should help him stay healthy and on field week-in and week-out.

Now, it doesn’t help that Bosa already had a calf injury ahead of OTAs early on in the summer but Sean McDermott did say that he expects Bosa to be ready for training camp and the start of the season.

Players tend to perform well in a contract year and I am going all-in with the hype of Bosa coming to Buffalo. Not only will he be the difference maker for the Bills, but he might just become an All-Pro as well.

Stats prediction: 10 sacks, 45 total tackles, 3 forced fumbles
