Joey Bosa is already letting Bills fans down in most predictable way possible

Great...(not).

It’s literally the start of the summer and the Buffalo Bills are already dealing with injury news. On the first day of OTAs today, head coach Sean McDermott spoke with the media and in addition to James Cook not reporting (which was obvious), McDermott also reported that edge rusher Joey Bosa “pulled a calf muscle late last week” and is set to miss these upcoming workouts for the spring, according to Dan Fetes.

This is already a problem. It’s not even June yet and Bosa is already dealing with an injury, which is not a good sign for his 2025 season. I get it, it’s only May, but to have Bosa already dealing with an injury is quite concerning.

Bosa signed a one-year deal worth $12 million this offseason. Buffalo brought him in after letting go of Von Miller and this nightmare scenario is already coming true. The last thing the Bills need is Bosa not being on the field.

Joey Bosa is already dealing with an injury (and it's the start of the summer)

When the Bills signed Bosa, it showed that Buffalo wanted to still be aggressive in the free agent market. But getting someone who has played in just 28 regular season games over the last three seasons comes with major risk as well. No one can deny the fact that Bosa is ferocious when he is on the field.

At the same time, when talking about Bosa, we have to mention “when on the field”. There’s no way around it when you look at his injury history.

Maybe this is a bit of an overreaction, but this is not an ideal start for the Bills. To have their newest big-name defender not on the field during OTAs is concerning. With this news coming to light, this now brings more worry for Bills fans. We already know that it’s likely that Michael Hoecht and Larry Ogunjobi will miss the first six games of the season due to violating the league’s PED policy.

Now you have to be extra careful with Bosa with this injury. A simple calf injury can become worse if not taken care of properly. This is not a great kickoff to the summer for the Bills.
