The Buffalo Bills are heading into another huge and tricky off-season, having again fallen short of their ultimate goal, a Super Bowl championship. The Bills have come up short in the most heartbreaking of ways over the past few years, however, this year might have been the worst blow to their faithful fanbase. This was the year, this was the easiest path they’ve had to take to get themselves there, but Patrick Mahomes, in the form of the grim reaper, once again brought death to the Bills’ championship dreams.

Yes, the Bills were ravaged by injuries on defense, having been down to their fourth and fifth-string linebackers in the form of veteran practice squad man A.J. Klein. Shout out to Klein for playing well in the playoffs though, given the circumstances, as the man was packing his RV for a family vacation when the Bills called for him to come back. Despite that, this was still the easiest road for them to get to the big game.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals, who seemingly have the Buffalo Bills number, were out of the way. The Bills were scorching hot down the stretch, having been forced to rally and win out their last five games of the season to even make it after they dug themselves in a hole and switched offensive coordinators in week 10. They rallied, won out, and even captured the division crown again and the number two seed. The reigning champion Chiefs were not themselves this year, and the weakest they’ve been in the Mahomes era and had to come to Buffalo for Mahomes’ first-ever road playoff game. While you should take this with a grain of salt, as we know anything can happen in football, it’s hard to see an easier road in the future to the Super Bowl.

Heartbreak will always brew anger and unclear thinking, especially among fans as dedicated and loyal as Bills Mafia. Since the season ended, fans have been clamoring that because they didn’t get it done this year, they’re in trouble. The national media has turned Buffalo into their early offseason punching bag for teams that are set to implode. Bills fans, relax, take a breath, and look at things more clearly.

Here is why the Buffalo Bills are going to be fine this off-season
