Defensive Ends (5)

Greg Rousseau, Von Miller, A.J. Epenesa, Javon Solomon, Casey Toohill

The defensive end position that has probably come into focus quicker than many expected. There was no question about the top of the depth chart as it was going to be Greg Rousseau, A.J. Epenesa, and Von Miller.

One question that has to be sorted out is who starts opposite Rousseau as Miller could be that player if he is healthy. However, the coaching staff may elect to keep Miller in a pass-rush specialist role to try and maximize his skill set but limit the workload at this point of his career.

After these three there may be some discussion but the most likely candidates are rookie Javon Solomon and free agent addition Casey Toohill. While players like Kingsley Jonathan and Kameron Cline have had moments in previous training camps and preseason games, they need to have a really good summer to surpass those two.

The only other player to note is Dawuane Smoot, who is a bigger defensive end and better against the run. If the Bills keep Miller, Solomon, and Toohill this is a relatively small group that might struggle against the run and Smoot could help in that regard.
