2. Week 18: Buffalo Bills 21, Miami Dolphins 14
The final game of the season in Hard Rock Stadium in South Florida turned out to be the AFC East title clincher and earned the Bills the second seed in the AFC. It was a tight matchup throughout and not necessarily the cleanest game by the Bills. But, the implications and rewards for the win earn it the second spot on the list.
Allen threw two interceptions. However, he was very accurate throughout the Sunday night matchup going 30-38 (78.9%). He was a huge assist to the 473 total yards they put up on offense as Allen had a combined 426 of those total yards through the air and on the ground. He had 15 rushing attempts which once again relays back to his development as a scrambler this past season.
An unsung hero of this game was the young wide receiver Khalil Shakir who had his second 100-yard game of his career with 105 yards and went 6-6 on targets thrown his way. Rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid and Diggs both had 80+ yard nights with seven catches each as well. Both of them averaged 12 yards per catch and Shakir averaged an astounding 17.5 yards per catch. This is the best yards per catch average for him in his career on a minimum of five receptions.
The defense also did enough to stop a Dolphins' offense that was very explosive all of last season. Miami was just 4-10 on third downs and ran 29 less offensive plays than Buffalo as the Bills held the ball for right around 16 more minutes. And though the Dolphins averaged 403 yards per game this season, they had just 275 against the Bills.
