The Buffalo Bills knew before the 2020 season that they had to get Josh Allen a number one wide receiver if this offense was going to take that next step. General manager Brandon Beane found the perfect wide receiver to fill that role in Stefon Diggs when he traded for him before the 2020 NFL Draft. The former All-Pro wide receiver set another franchise record on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Bills wide receiver entered this game with 993 receiving yards on the season and after a six yard reception for his first catch of the game, he would break 1,000 receiving yards for the season on his next catch which went for 18 yards.

This would be the fourth straight year that Diggs has broken that total and dating back to his time with the Minnesota Vikings is his six straight season with over 1,000 receiving yards.

Buffalo Bills need to get Stefon Diggs more involved moving forward

A majority of those receiving yards were in the early part of the season when Diggs had five games with over 100 receiving yards in the first six weeks. However, he has not broken that mark since that stretch.

It appears that offensive coordinator Joe Brady is making a concerted effort in this game to get Diggs involved early as he got the first two targets of the game from Josh Allen and already has 24 receiving yards, which is the same amount he had all of last week against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Stefon Diggs has set a number of other franchise records during his time with Buffalo, including the first and second most receiving yards in a season, the three highest seasons with receptions, and tied the franchise record, set by Bill Brooks, for most receiving touchdowns in a season with 11.
