Why the Buffalo Bills should re-sign Leonard Floyd

There is no question that Leonard Floyd was the best pass rusher for this defense last season. The defense needed Floyd's performance considering that Miller didn't make any kind of impact after returning from a torn ACL during the 2022 season.

Even though he is 31 years old (and will turn 32 during the 2024 season) he has been incredibly consistent with nine or more sacks each of the past four seasons with 18 or more QB hits. He was very efficient as his snaps significant decreased but the results didn't change.

When considering the rotation aspect of the position, the Buffalo Bills could help Floyd extend his career as he will remain fresher over the course of the season. He won't have to play 80% of the defensive snaps and be truly a pass rush specialist for this defense.

Based strictly on performance, Floyd makes the most sense but when considering it likely would be a one-year deal and what the Buffalo Bills got last season is his ceiling. A.J. Epenesa should be the priority as he is a long-term answer and still could have his best football ahead of him.
