Should Bills fans be concerned about Keon Coleman's lack of a signed contract?

Several of the NFL first-rounders from the 2024 NFL Draft are signed. All of the Bills rookies are signed as well, except the top pick Keon Coleman. Should fans be concerned?

Worry is starting to swirl a little bit as of late with rookie signings. Several first-round rookies are signed but per The Football Database, 13 remain unsigned. Buffalo has also signed all of their rookies from the draft outside of Coleman. Should the Bills and their fans be concerned? These things can take time, so worrying is not necessary and he'll likely sign at some point before the start of training camp in late July.

Four of the five players selected before Coleman have signed as well, including Xavier Legette at 32, one spot ahead of Coleman. Legette signed a four-year deal for $12.4 million with a $5.8 million signing bonus. Coleman will probably sign a deal close to that, likely around $11.9 to $12 million with a $5 to $5.5 million signing bonus. Coleman is one of 11 from the second round that have not yet signed.

All the reports we've seen coming out of OTAs have been positive. Coleman has been impressive in practices and showing why the Bills made him their top draft pick. Will that translate onto the field, and particularly when the pads come on for training camp in July? There is still a long way to go this summer, but we'll get another look at him beginning June 11, when the team takes the field again for minicamp, but again without pads.

Will Keon Coleman be the Buffalo Bills top receiver in 2024?

There have been a lot of questions about Coleman this offseason, whether he can replace Stefon Diggs's production, or if fans should expect that of him. Will he be the team's number one receiver? Will he take that mantle in year one, or will he play more of a support role? The answers to these questions are just around the corner, and training camp, pre-season, and before you know it, we'll be kicking off the 2024 NFL season. So, until we get there, don't worry about the contract, the Bills and Coleman will get that done in time.
