While Sean McDermott and his coaching staff turn their attention to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the front office and the scouting department should be taking a look at the future talent that will be joining the NFL in less than a year. The Buffalo Bills are currently sitting at 2-0 as they get set to host the Jacksnville Jaguars, but there are already positions that the Bills will need to address after this season.

Since Brandon Beane officially joined the Bills as their General Manager (after the 2017 NFL Draft), he has built a championship roster that started with getting a franchise quarterback in Josh Allen. He also done a fantastic job building up the roster through free agency, but the Bills have been hit with some sort of bad luck every single year.

The salary cap started to become an issue with the Bills and they had to release key culture players like Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde, Tre’Davious White, and Mitch Morse. The secondary is somewhat brand new, but they have been able to lock down receivers like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Marvin Harrison Jr. the past two weeks.

However, Buffalo is going to have a pressing need in the secondary once again come 2025 and it would not be surprising to see Beane take the approach of addressing a key position on McDermott’s roster at cornerback. In a recent 2025 NFL Mock Draft by Josh Edwards of CBS Sports, with the help of former NFL general manager Rick Spielman and Ryan Wilson from “With the First Pick”, this mock draft took an interesting start but then became realistic as the picks went on.

When it came to the Buffalo Bills, Arizona cornerback Tacario Davis was selected to go to Buffalo at No. 25 and this is what Spielman had to say about this pick:

"They need to add to their young secondary as they revamp this secondary, so Tacario Davis from Arizona, I think would be the perfect fit."

Rick Spielman, ex-NFL general manager

It would not be surprising to see the Buffalo Bills go with a CB in the first round in 2025

With all of the changes the Bills had to make this past offseason, it might be time to start back at phase one and bring in key positional players. When Sean McDermott came to Buffalo in 2017, the Bills traded back 17 spots with the Kansas City Chiefs and were able to snag cornerback Tre’Davious White from LSU at No. 27.. White became an All-Pro player before tearing his ACL in 2021.

Davis is a big corner who has great size and can attack the ball to make a big play. For now, the Bills have a great duo at corner with Rasul Douglas and Christian Benford. However, that won’t last forever. If the Bills are able to get Davis late in the first round (like they are projected to in this mock draft), it would start a reload rather than a rebuild for the Bills.
