3.) New York Jets
The highlight of the Jets’ offseason was acquiring future hall of fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers. Along with Rodgers, the Jets also brought in wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb who have played with Rodgers in recent memory. They arguably had the biggest upgrade on the offensive ball out of all NFL teams, as they have a great quarterback to pair with their dominant defense.
In 2022, the Jets started out on a high note which included a great performance from their rookie running back Breece Hall who was on track to win offensive rookie of the year before tearing his ACL (seven games, 463 rushing yards and four touchdowns). They also suffered a loss up front with offensive guard Alijah Vera-Tucker going down early in the season.
One positive note on their offense was the emergence of wide receiver Garrett Wilson who ended up winning offensive rookie of the year (83 catches, 1,103 yards, four touchdowns). In addition, Wilson put up these numbers with rotating quarterbacks in Zach Wilson, Mike White and Chris Streveler.
Now that the Jets have a legit quarterback in a number one receiver, their offense should see an improvement. The only thing ranking them at third is that we don’t know how Rodgers will mesh with this offensive unit just yet. With the Bills and the Jets set to square off in Week 1, one thing to keep in mind is that Rodgers has lost the last two season opening games.
