Edefuan Ulofoshio

Projected Role: Primary Special Teams Contributor

The Buffalo Bills would pick three players in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft and after selecting center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger they would pick linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio out of the University of Washington. Similarly to some of the other players on this list, he played a lot in college but unfortunately there is not a clear path to snaps on defense.

Entering this season, the expectation for Edefuan Ulofoshio will be contributing on special teams after the Bills lost Tyrel Dodson and Tyler Matakevich this offseason. Both players played a majority of the special team snaps and now Ulofoshio has a chance to step into that role.

Javon Solomon

Projected Role: Back of rotation defensive end

The final fifth-round pick made by the Bills was defensive end Javon Solomon out of Troy. Similar to DeWayne Carter, the Bills needed depth at defensive end with how much they rotate at the position so Solomon is a smart pick for this team.

However, Solomon may not have a role immediately and may have to work up the depth chart. The Bills typically have four defensive ends active each week and right now that likely is Greg Rousseau, Von Miller, A.J. Epenesa, and Casey Toohill.

There may be some weeks the Bills want to have five defensive ends active, or if there is an injury, Solomon would step into that rotation. At this point though, he probably has a spot on the 53-man roster but won't have a regular role in the rotation.
