Predicting Josh Allen's stats against the Houston Texans in Week 5

Josh Allen and the Bills offense had a tough outing in their previous game against Baltimore, as the entire offensive game plan was abandoned from Baltimore's dominance on both sides of the ball.

The run game with James Cook had little impact, and Allen had to put the cape on again. However, Allen couldn't do enough, as he got pressured on 44% of his dropbacks, being forced to call max protection and was still getting pressured and couldn't find any open receivers all night.

Allen ended Week 4 completing 16/29 passes for 180 passing yards, and 21 rushing yards. Allen and the offense will now face a young Texans defense, who are a bit overrated.

The defense, on paper, should be better than what their stats say, but they've allowed some pretty below-average offenses to score points on them. The Indianapolis Colts scored 27 on them in Week 1, and the Jaguars, the team that the Bills destroyed scored 20 points and almost beat them last week.

Despite this, their pass defense is ranked number four in the league. The crucial part of the defense that the Bills should worry about is the edge rushers, Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr. The Bills will keep a close eye on those two, especially with Dion Dawkins being questionable with a hamstring injury. However, assuming that Dawkins is healthy, the Bills' offense should utilize their passing attack, especially towards the middle of the field.

Houston's linebackers aren't great in coverage and the secondary is young, so there might be mismatches with guys like Dalton Kincaid, who can outrun most of those linebackers. Or even a veteran like Curtis Samuel, who can take advantage of the young secondary.

Regardless, Josh Allen is a superstar veteran quarterback facing a young defensive secondary. Even with Houston's defense being ranked so high, Allen seems to thrive against them, having a 9-1 record against top-five passing defenses.

With Houston's weak defensive tackles in the middle, there will likely be a nice run-game for Cook, so there may be a nice balance between the run and pass within this game. As long as the offensive line contains Houston's talented edge rushers, the Bills' offense will be well-balanced and keep the defense guessing. Once Allen enters that groove, he will dominate his competition.

Predicting Josh Allen's Week 5 stats

With Josh Allen having the reputation of dominating top five defenses in the NFL, he will continue that streak, as he will take advantage of the Texans' young secondary. If Allen's hand is any better, he may be a little more risky with running the ball as well.

Assuming the game remains close throughout the whole way, Josh will have 32 passing attempts, completing 25 of them for 303 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Allen will also record six rushes for 34 yards and a touchdown.
