Predicting Dalton Kincaid's Week 3 stats vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 3 is coming up for the Buffalo Bills, and instead of playing before everyone else on Thursday night like they did against the Dolphins in Week 2, they will be playing on Monday night. Much like their previous opponent, the Bills will be facing a Florida team. That is where the similarities stop abruptly. This Florida team in the Jacksonville Jaguars has gotten the best of these Buffalo Bills in their past 2 match-ups.
Granted, the previous match-up (Week 5 of 2023) was in London and the Jaguars were still in London from the week prior, so they were accustomed with the time difference. But before that, they had played the Jaguars in Jacksonville, when Trevor Lawrence was a rookie and Urban Meyer was the head coach at the time. A very weird game that ended in a Bills loss of 9-6, one that many Bills fans despise.
It certainly feels different this year, with Jacksonville starting the year 0-2 and the Bills on the other side at 2-0. This is a must win game for arguably both teams. Jacksonville needs to climb out of their 0-2 hole to have any hope of making a push for the playoffs. The Bills need to keep their momentum rolling into Week 4 next week against Baltimore on the road, with a win at home in Week 3 against a pesky foe that has seemingly had their number in Jacksonville.
A good way for the Bills to overcome their previous deficiencies? Feed Dalton Kincaid the football. The Jaguars are playing the most man-coverage in the league, and Kincaid could set up so many mismatches at the 2nd level of this defense. He's fast enough to out-run and out-athlete linebackers and he's too big of a target for safeties and cornerbacks.
Kincaid came into the year with a decent amount of expectations, including being potentially viewed as the number one target in this passing offense. Through two weeks, this hasn't turned out to be the case. This offense has certainly taken on the "everyone eats" mentality, but this feels like the time Kincaid starts racking up the yardage and targets. Possibly his 1st touchdown as well? We will see on primetime in Orchard Park.
