Predicting the Buffalo Bills starting offense after the 2023 NFL Draft

After the AFC Divisional Round Game against the Cincinnati Bengals, it was clear that the Buffalo Bills needed to improve their offensive line. The most direct path to doing that was upgrading the offensive guard position.

The Bills not only upgraded one but both starting spots this offseason after signing Connor McGovern as a free agent and then drafting O'Cyrus Torrence in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

These two are very different players and bring vastly different skill sets as McGovern is an athletic offensive lineman that the Buffalo Bills should be able to pull and move on run plays. Meanwhile, Torrence is a lineman that is going to win with power and grit while creating massive running lanes in the middle of the field.

The addition of these two guards now pushes Ryan Bates, who started every game last year at guard, down the depth chart. However, he steps into a key role as the primary backup at guard but also at center behind Mitch Morse.

The Buffalo Bills didn't make wholesale changes along the offensive line but made enough that should really improve the performance of this group and help Josh Allen.
