New York Jets addressed areas of need, not appeasing Aaron Rodgers

T Tyron Smith

The New York Jets offensive line was not good a season ago. Enter Tyron Smith. New York got the former Dallas Cowboys tackle to sure things up on an offense that needs to protect Aaron Rodgers this season. Smith was a highly sought-after free agent and rightfully so. He is going to protect Rodgers and we all can assume Rodgers will be healthy for more than four offensive snaps in 2024. I think Smith will pose a problem for a Bills pass rush that must show it can create havoc for opposing quarterbacks next season.

WR Mike Williams

Mike Williams has the skill to be a top wide receiver for the Jets, when healthy. Coming off a season-ending ACL injury last season the Jets are hoping Williams will be like his old self and put up big numbers. I feel like Mike Williams won’t be the same but he will be productive and being productive will help the Jets win games. Garrett Wilson will garner a lot of attention so Mike Williams can be what the Jets need, a solid number two receiver who contributes.

LB Haason Reddick

In a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Jets are getting a steady pass rusher to add to a defense that ranked third in total defense, second against the pass, and tenth in sacks. Reddick has over 50 sacks in the last four seasons and makes a tough defense even tougher to go against. This trade puts more pressure on a revamped Bills offensive line to give time to Josh Allen.
