NFL analysts are starting to doubt the Bills at their own risk

Go ahead and doubt them. That makes it more fun.

It wasn't all that long ago when most NFL talking heads were picking the Buffalo Bills to win the Super Bowl. Once it was clear that Josh Allen was as good as advertised and could take the Bills to heights they hadn't reached in decades, the bandwagon got pretty crowded

Well, fast forward to the present day, and the Bills are no longer the favorite when it comes to Super Bowl picks. That much was clear in NFL.com's latest edition of writers' Super Bowl predictions with only one person picking the Bills to win Super Bowl LIX. To put it into perspective, three people picked the Jets to reach the Super Bowl with one choosing them to win it all. The Bills were only listed once.

Gregg Rosenthal was the lone writer to have the Bills hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in 2025. He has them defeating the Detroit Lions in what would likely be referred to as the "Heartbreak Bowl" (my take, not his). His description of how Buffalo would win the game would make this hypothetical name even more realistic.

"In a battle of franchises that have never won the big one, Josh Allen bowls over Levi Onwuzurike at the goal line with 17 seconds left for his MVP moment."

Are people giving up on the Bills as Super Bowl contenders?

Truthfully, no one should really care if analysts are picking the Bills to win the big game or not. A few years ago, when it felt like everyone was picking them to win their first-ever Super Bowl trophy, they didn't get past the divisional round.

This offseason, a lot of people soured on the Bills because of all the talent they had to give up. Guys like Stefon Diggs, Tre'Davious White, Mitch Morse, and Jordan Poyer left the team for one reason or another and that put a major dent in Buffalo's Super Bowl chances, or so people think.

The fact of the matter is that as long as the Bills still have Josh Allen quarterbacking the offense, they will be a Super Bowl contender. Sure, they have struggled to win in the postseason but as long as Allen is hot and doing his thing at quarterback, this team has a shot to win it all.

It's okay that no one is picking the Bills to win because it'll make it that much sweeter when they do get there and win the whole dang thing.
