Rumors are what keeps things interesting in sports. Whether it is potential trades or free agent signings, it keeps fans interested and even gets them engaged. For the last year, the New York Jets have been in the mix of various rumors surrounding multiple aspects of their team. This includes Aaron Rodgers, ex-Jet Zach Wilson, or how the Jets seem to always be in the mix for some big player name that could be acquired in free agency or through trade.

We are once again at that point where we are seeing the Jets in the middle of trade rumors, but this time, it is for a big time player in a bad situation. Wide receiver Davante Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 where he was set to team up with former college teammate Derek Carr. Adams was set to leave a situation where he didn’t have Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball anymore. That duo was among the top QB-WR combos in the league for quite some time.

While Adams had a great start to his Raiders career, last season was a drop in production. Due to the fact that Adams had to endure the horrendous play of Jimmy Garoppolo (who replaced Carr) and then eventually learn to get on the same page as Aidan O’Connell, the All-Pro receiver was beyond frustrated to the point where there are now trade talks about him reuniting with Rodgers up in New York.

A Davante Adams-to-Jets trade should scare Bills fans

Since 2017, Adams has been nothing short of spectacular. Part of the reason why is because having Rodgers as his quarterback has turned him into a top five wide receiver. We are at the point where hypothetical trades are being made by Alex Kay of Bleacher Report as to how Adams could land with the Jets.

With training camp rapidly approaching, if we start to hear news about Adams being unhappy and wanting out of Vegas, the Jets could swoop in and find a way to acquire Rodgers former teammate. With the Jets going into a win-now mode, it would be a perfect setup for them. It would also cause a nightmare scenario for the Bills.

If there is one team that is built to beat the Bills, it is the Jets. They have a top notch defense along with a future Hall of Fame quarterback (coming off a major injury). New York also has a running game led by Breece Hall that has proven that they can carry the offense at times. The Bills already have a lot on their plates when they take on the Jets. If they have to endure containing Adams, along with Garrett Wilson, it is going to be tough for the Bills to take down the Jets.

According to Adam Schefter, Adams' agents put out a statement regarding the trade rumors.

Until we see Adams on the field for the Raiders in Week 1, anything is possible...
