Buffalo Bills star quarterback Josh Allen was named the cover athlete for Madden 24, a huge honor ahead of the 2023 season.

Allen is also the favorite to win the NFL’s MVP award, so this could be a big season for the Bills star. Most of the time, players are likely to land on the cover after a Super Bowl or MVP win, but could this be foreshadowing Allen’s 2023 season?

Will Josh Allen suffer the Madden Curse?

The Madden Curse has gone back a long way with players getting injured or taking a step back the season that they grace the cover of the video game.

Luckily for Allen, that hasn’t really been the case lately with quarterbacks Lamar Jackson, Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes all withstanding the curse.

The latest player to really have the “Madden Curse” hit them was Antonio Brown, who was shortly out of the NFL after gracing the cover in Madden in 2019.

Bills fans shouldn’t be worried about a silly concept like this, especially since their star quarterback worked through an elbow injury last season.

Should you bet on Josh Allen to MVP?

This is the second straight season that Allen is the favorite to win the league’s MVP award, but he came up short last season with Patrick Mahomes having a great season.

Regardless, Allen is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL, and he has the weapons to put up huge numbers year in and year out.

With the NFL MVP award being a quarterback-dominant award, Allen is a solid bet to come away with the honor. He’s too talented not to win an MVP in his career, and oddsmakers clearly think his time is coming by setting him as the favorite.
