Josh Allen remains on a TD trajectory only NFL legends have matched

Heading into Week 2, the Buffalo Bills were preparing for a tough challenge against the Miami Dolphins. Down in South Florida where the weather was in the 80s by kickoff, the Bills definitely have some disadvantages in this game. However, having Josh Allen cancels it all out because of how dominant the Bills are of the Dolphins with Allen.
It is almost automatic when it comes to Allen taking on the Dolphins. Miami has not had answers on how to stop him. The only two wins against Allen was once in his rookie season, and when the Miami scorching sun was shining down on the Bills’ sideline that made half of their roster go down with some sort of injury.
To start out this Thursday night game, the Dolphins took the ball first but Tua Tagovailoa threw an interception to Ja’Marcus Ingram to set the Bills’ offense up in great field position. After getting stopped inside the redzone, Buffalo opted to go for it on 4th down and it was in their favor. After struggling in the first half last week against the Arizona Cardinals, it is great seeing the defense step up early on to contain this high-powered Miami offense.
Allen dropped back and tossed the ball out to the left to running back James Cook who took it in for a 17-yard Bills touchdown. With that touchdown pass, Allen reached 226 career total TDs which passed Peyton Manning and Dan Marino for the second-most in a player’s first seven seasons.
Josh Allen continues to climb the legend ladder
Last week against the Arizona Cardinals, Allen also made history by tying Steve Young’s record for the most games with 2+ passing touchdowns and 2+ rushing touchdowns in a game (4).
Now that Allen is the sole second leader in most total touchdowns, he will be looking to keep climbing up the rankings. As long as he stays healthy and avoids any unnecessary injury, Allen will keep setting records for Bills fans to enjoy.
It is also great to see Allen accomplish this milestone against the team that he is known for dominating makes it just more special. We will keep seeing what kind of production Allen will be putting on as this game continues. It’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish.
