The first half of Sunday Night Football was a performance that was forgetful for the Buffalo Bills. They went down 21-3 going into halftime and both sides of the ball looked completely lost. The offense couldn’t get the ball going on the ground and the receivers couldn’t get any separation. With the defense, they weren’t making adjustments to contain Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry.

Going into halftime, the Bills had a lot to discuss and needed to come up with a different game plan because the one they had to start this game was not working whatsoever. Coming out of halftime, the Bills started on defense but managed to force a punt.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo offense ran out onto the field, hoping to get something going. They faced yet another 3rd down and it looked like the ball was going to be heading back into the hands of Lamar Jackson. However, Josh Allen had other plans.

On a 3rd and 5 play, Allen scrambled right towards the sideline and at the very last second, he chucked the ball down the field and found a wide open Khalil Shakir to set the Bills for a first-and-goal. The combo connected on a 52-yard pass after it seemed like the play was broken. In addition, Allen made the throw off of his back foot going out of bounds with three defenders in his face.

Josh Allen continues to show impressive athleticism

Allen demonstrated that despite his team being down big, he still looks for ways to make the big pay. That pass to Shakir could easily become the turning point of the game for the Bills. Not to mention, that pass to Shakir helped set up a Ty Johnson touchdown run to give the Bills their first touchdown of the night.

The Bills have a lot of work to do, but they showed that they may be down, but they are not out just yet.
