The Buffalo Bills played six consecutive bad quarters of football, up until the third quarter against the Houston Texans. The Bills were down 17-3 going into halftime and it appeared the Bills had no answer for C.J. Stroud. Not to mention, Josh Allen was 1-for-9 at one point and he looked like he was lost.

Despite a James Cook rushing touchdown in the second half, the Bills still needed to crawl their way out of the hole they dug themselves into.

After being down 20-10, the Bills managed to get the back and they got to midfield just to be stopped again on third down. In that kind of situation, most teams would punt the ball away to get their opponent away from midfield. Not the Bills though.

On 4th down, Allen and the offense stayed out on the field and opted to go for it. Maybe they were just looking to get the Texans to jump offside on the hard count. They have a history of doing that. However, the ball snapped and the next thing we see is Allen connecting to rookie wideout Keon Coleman who broke one tackle and it took it 49 yards to the house. The Bills were all of a sudden back into the game.

This was Allen’s first touchdown of the game and connecting with the rookie, who essentially replaced Stefon Diggs is a great feeling for Bills fans. Not only did this touchdown get Buffalo back into the game, but it also helps Allen keep climbing the record ladder.

On Allen’s touchdown pass to Coleman, he recorded his 231st career total touchdown which is now tied with Patrick Mahomes for the most by a player in their first seven seasons.

Josh Allen continues his dominance

It was a miserable start to Allen’s performance against the Texans. However, the second half has shown us that it’s not about how you start, but rather how you finish. The Bills should be down by way more, but they aren’t. The Buffalo offense needs to clean it up and get back into this game to avoid their second consecutive loss.
