Grading Josh Allen's Week 3 performance on Monday Night Football
By Brandon Ray
Through the first three weeks of the NFL season, we have seen Josh Allen play Superman and take a backseat to let others shine. This Monday night matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars was an all-out dominant performance by Allen in front of the home crowd.
It was all Buffalo in the first half, who put up 34 points going into halftime. Four out of the five touchdowns that the Bills scored involved Allen. He not only threw four touchdown passes in the first half, but he did so by throwing it to four different weapons on the offense. He helped Dalton Kincaid get his first touchdown of the season, as well as getting rookie Keon Coleman his first touchdown of his career.
To finish out the night, Allen ended the game with a 77% completion percentage for 263 yards and 4 touchdowns. On the ground, he added six carries for 44 yards. He looked locked in and played turnover-free football for the second consecutive week. Doing this against a team that he has struggled against the last couple of years is a great confidence boost.
Josh Allen played out of his mind on primetime
You can’t ask for a better performance out of Allen. Coming into this game at 2-0, the Bills were facing a little bit of a trap game. Jacksonville was coming in to get their first win of the season and they have had success against Buffalo in their last two matchups. History didn’t seem to matter in this game just because of how dominant the Bills were from start to finish.
Allen has now led the Bills to their third consecutive 30+ point game this season. He has been on fire this season and he is turning heads. He will now get ready for a tough matchup in Baltimore on Sunday night next week. However, for now, he and his team can enjoy this win against Jacksonville.
