Grading every first-round pick of Buffalo Bills' current regime
2018 - Josh Allen
There isn't much to be said here, except for an incredible pick. I think every single Bills fan (not counting a post-Week 1 overreaction to his benching), and most of the national media can attest to him being a top-three QB in the league.
Allen to date, has a career passer rating of 92.2, passing for 22,703 yards, 167 touchdowns, 78 interceptions, and 3,611 rushing yards to go along with 53 rushing touchdowns. In 2020, Allen was the MVP runner-up, second only to then-Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.
Grade: A+
2018 - Tremaine Edmunds
While most of the fanbase is conflicted with how Edmunds' Bills tenure finished, it's safe to say he was a productive first round pick by the Bills. As the leader of the defense, Edmunds was big in run support, and when the defensive tackless were healthy, the run defense was good.
Edmunds finished his tenure with five interceptions, 35 passes defended, 565 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Edmunds earned himself two Pro Bowl nods during his time here, and when he wasn't on the field, the defense just wasn't the same. Overall 2018 was a very successful one for Brandon Beane's first draft.
