Dalton Kincaid has high chance to finish as a Top 3 TE in 2024 for Buffalo Bills

Even though the Buffalo Bills are a bit of an uncertain team heading into 2024, they still have a top three quarterback in Josh Allen that will always keep them in the conversation as one of the best teams in the league. Will they look a little different? Sure, that is not out of the question. At the same time, Bills fans may have an idea as to how the Buffalo offense will operate based on what we saw once Joe Brady took over the play calling duties. 

The Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis era is over in Buffalo and Bills fans will see a new weapon room that consists of Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, possibly Chase Claypool and second year tight end Dalton Kincaid. While it may be easy to be discouraged about this wide receiver room, nothing is guaranteed until the season kicks off and we get a better look at what the Bills will be. 

If there is one duo that should pick up where they left off from last year, it is going to be Allen to Kincaid.

Do the Bills have a potential top three tight end heading into 2024?

When the Bills traded up in last year’s NFL Draft for Kincaid, it was a head scratcher at first considering the fact that the Bills had just given Dawson Knox a 4-year, $52 million extension. However, the Bills may have themselves a star in Kincaid after a solid rookie year. Finishing with 73 receptions for 673 yards and 2 touchdowns, Kincaid finished third on the team in receiving yards behind Diggs and Davis. In addition, Kincaid was the second highest targeted weapon for the Bills (91) behind only Diggs who had 160 targets. 

When looking at the rest of the league, the tight end spot does not have a lot of stars outside of players like Travis Kelce, George Kittle, T.J. Hockenson and Sam LaPorta. However, Kelce has lost a step in his game and Hockenson may miss some of the season due to tearing his ACL and MCL late last season.

With Kincaid’s numbers as a rookie, there is a lot of belief that he will only continue to get better. There is a strong argument that he will be Allen’s go to weapon for the majority of the season. Until Coleman or Shakir are able to take over a game on the outside, it would not be surprising at all to see Kincaid be the number one option for the Bills. With having a quarterback like Allen in his prime and showing flashes of greatness last year, Kincaid could easily establish himself as one of the best tight ends in the league early on in his career.
